My first thought was root rot. Check the roots and cut off any squishy rotten ones. I would also probably change the soil

In general these plants like to dry out in between watering. So in a 5” pot with medium to low light, I would water once every 1.5-2 weeks

i would say, if you can, move it closer to a window so it has a chance to use up the water. but peace lillies will let you know when they need water cause they get super dramatic and droop like they just got broken up with over text.
