How do I get rid of mealy bugs for good??

I’m still having mealy bug issues even after using neem oil and killing them with alcohol whenever I see some. And I’m starting to see them spread to my other plants! Help!
Mealy bugs suck. First take any infested plants and quarantine them. You really have 2 options. Keep at it with the alcohol and insecticides every 5 days or so (I’d quit with the neem oil and get an insecticide soap), or go nuclear and get a systemic.
Always isolate the affected plants .. mealy bugs can travel - very well. I had mine in transparent boxes for a while, for better isolation. Only treating the one plant doesn't cut it: always check and treat treat the neighboring plants as well and wipe down the surrounding area including every nook and cranny in the surroundings. I had some tiny mealies camping out in the tiniest of leaf joints for a while. I only noticed them in my very regular (almost obsessive) checkups because I saw the slight white dusting or the sticky sap they leave around them and treated those spots on suspicion without seeing the actual bugs. Otherwise I would have lost the fight. Good luckwith your plants, keep fighting, persistence and very regular very thorough check ups are key in my experience
