Trying to propagate calathea plant in water . Is this th...

No, the leaves alone won’t take root. It’s best to propagate Calathea by division. Here’s a link to propagation. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/calathea-plants/calathea-propagation.htm With that said I have a Maranta which is similar to Calathea and I have successfully propagated in water. But it has nodes on its stems that will root in water. So if any of your other prayer plants are Maranta then you can water prop. Here’s a pic of nodes and link https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/calathea-plants/calathea-propagation.htm
I can’t tell from the second photo if there is nodes at the bottom of are these just leaves. If there are no nodes, it won’t root.
NO, using leaves to attempt #calathea propagation will not work. You have to cut through the rootsystem.
Sadly no. You have to divide
This type of calathea/goeppertia propagates from rhizomes. Little bulbs in the soil attached to the roots.
Maranta OTOH can be cut & propped similar to pothos as person above mentioned. #PropagationStation
