My plant is loosing its leaves

Hello,
I got this plant from a friend of mine. Since I got it, it has been loosing its leaves and now only one leafe is left. I really want to safe it. Does anybody have any tips?
2ft to light, direct
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 4 years ago
@cecile Peperomia plants lose leaves when they are over watered. Allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before you water. Over-watering, resulting in root-rot, is the main cause of serious peperomia plant problems. It's best to water these plants from the bottom.
Even though like @KikiGoldblatt said it is probably being overwatered, those little tentacles growing out of it are essentially it’s flowers. So the plant is likely happier than you think! Let the soil dry between waterings.
I agree with @KikiGoldblatt and @TinyDog. Also there is a lot of new growth so it probably just went into shock from being moved. It says you have it in direct light which might be to much for a peperomia. I’d move it to indirect bright light.
@KikiGoldblatt @TinyDog Thank youπŸ₯° I took it out of its pot and rolled it up in newspaper to help the soil dry a bit. I really hope it will survive
@Jilliebeanstalk Alright, thank you
The spikes are flowers. I would cut them off near their base so that the energy put into the flowers can then be transferred to the plant’s little leaves to help them grow.
