Is distilled water best for all plants?

Curious what the rule of thumb is for using distilled water. I know my budha Hoya has to have it but now researching brown leaf tips for other plants shows it's tap water too?

i used to buy distilled water for all my plants, but i switched to just filtered tap water bc i felt bad buying so many plastic bottles 🥲 the filtered water works just as well in my opinion! or if you don’t have a filter you can collect rainwater. i think other than prayer plants, as alex said, and maybe some dracaena types, most plants are ok with tap water.
Hi there! I haven’t seen anything to indicate that a Hoya carnosa compacta needs distilled water. Hoyas are hardy and adaptable plants, and they don’t need any special water requirements!

On the other, more delicate tropical plants—specifically prayer plants—do need distilled water. Why? Because the minerals in tap water can’t escape their leaves, which results in unsightly brown and crispy tips where the minerals get trapped.

As far as a general rule of thumb, prayer plants (like Goeppertia/Calathea, Stronanthe, Ctenanthe) need distilled water to thrive. I’m not familiar with any other plant species that have a distilled water requirement other than prayer plants.

Hope this helps!
I don't buy distilled water for any of my plants including hoyas. I have a water filter pitcher (Brita) and refill jugs with that to water my plants, never any issues.
