Spotty leaves and stem residue?

#Jacaranda
Looks like the sticky stuff could be a result of pests. Honeydue usually appears due to sap sucking bugs on the plant. The spotty leaves might also be a result of this?
Not so sure about the pests. I haven’t seen any (I’ve had it a few months now). Residue builds up on new green stems and then turns brownβ€”I’ll try take a photo next time it happens. Those stems seem to eventually drop off. The spotty leaves also seems like a new development; recently reported it a couple of weeks ago and they appeared. Losing heaps of leaves and branches since… I don’t think I did a good job :(
@GrowingTexasash imported one from California, did the same thing on the main trunk- lifnified into a dark wood - continued to grow and push very healthy bipinnate leaves after that!
I the wax like substance did happen after its shipping stress so maybe the wax is a sign of stress. Mine has also never had a pest problem. Houston Zone 9B if it helps
