Advice re upcoming Lithops repot?

So Petronelle is doing well -- this is her first time as a four-window rock, and she seems to be thriving. However, it is a) clearly time for new digs and b) she has new friends on the way. (Should be here Wednesday!) I'd like to get everyone into one container this autumn, so I am planning ahead -- how does a Lithops repot work? As you see she is quite lanky (yes, working on the light issue) and she has a good bit of cuticle remaining from the split. Can I safely bury the portion below her windows? Should I trim that cuticle? All advice very welcome.

Hi! I’ve had one of my lithops for a few years now, I don’t know loads about them but I’m pretty sure you can bury part of it since they need watering so little so there’s not really anything wet for a long timr to rot it. Mine’s also in basically straight up rocks though and gets watered like twice a year ish. I usually try and pull off that dried part from the split and if it doesn’t pull away I leave it for a while longer. I’ve also repotted mine like once when I got it and not since, but I’m pretty sure they like taller but narrow pots.
Makes sense on the deeper pot; I am betting those roots go deep, especially since in their native environment the job description is basically "break granite, then resemble it." Thanks!!
