Money tree is dying

Hey guys! I was given this money tree as a gift and when I was given it, it was beautiful and full of life. Then slowly it started wilting and I was able to care for it as I noticed that the rubber band closer to the roots was suffocating it so I removed that. My plant was happy after that. Then, recently, I water my tree and it began wilting and leaves falling off.

I’m unsure as what to do here. In the pictures, I keep it up on the window. I don’t want it to die :( I really love this plant. Please help me before it’s too late!!!

Maybe wrong water? Too much water? Too little? Wrong lighting?
Make sure it’s not getting direct sunlight! I had the same issue and once I moved it into a bright position without direct sun hitting its leaves, it started flourishing!
@Fireplace that’s what I’m confused about because it was time for me to water it but it was browning a little bit already but it looked happier. I’m unsure 😭 when it wasn’t by the window- very sad. I’m confused as what to do.
@poison-ivy I will try that!
It looks sunburnt. I agree with @poison-ivy, maybe you can move it to a shadier spot?
