I have kept my lucky bamboo in water for over two years now and she’s been perfectly happy! I was thinking about transferring to soil, but I don’t want to cause untoward stress for her

Make sure your changing the water regularly, and I add a drop of liquid fertiliser once in a blue moon too 🌱
@Bean you can keep it in water. My daughter has a few in her aquariums. They do well in there.
depends! if they’ve been grown hydroponically all their life they’ll be happy to continue being in water. be sure to add a bit of hydroponic fertilizer to the water tho
I moved mine from water to those jelly balls (that all the kids had to have) to leca and now it's in soil. Mine is growing wild in the soil.
Thanks everyone! I’ll keep you updated on my new bamboo babies
I think water will work out just fine. My hubs and I got a few shoots when we started dating, 22ish years ago😱, and our plants are still alive and thriving and have only been in water. We’ve even changed the vessel a few times. We call it the relationship bamboo ❀️
They do well in water thats free from chlorine. I change the water once every 3 weeks.
