I don’t know about uncommon. I have one from the lovely @Idplantthat but it’s still in my prop box. 🥰 Rachel might be able to tell you about the care!
Thanks Nadia! @DreamMachine ☺️ Yes, both Nadia and I have them. As far as I’m aware, they are just like any other philodendron with care. They do get pretty large and like something to grow on; it’s highly recommended. The leaf size can get up to 30 inches long; they are a tropical plant that normally grows on other trees. With the leaf size, you want to get climbing on something soon, so it can hold itself up better, especially if it’s going crazy now. It’s not uncommon for them to know it’s spring/summer and go crazy 🤪 with growth. You can feed it some fish poops 💩 or kelp, even a little potassium/magnesium drink they love. It’s a grow booster for the growing season; you can even do a little mix of water and molasses. Just make sure you’re getting air to the roots; these particular varieties like to have very airy roots due to their growing style. But it looks beautiful and happy! 😊 Oh, and these plants, if you have pets, keep them away from. 🙅‍♀️🏴‍☠️🚫 Otherwise, I think that’s the basics? Nadia, what would you say?
@Idplantthat I think you got most everything! 🥰 @LargeFieldpansy Just want to say that I don’t add anything to my plants soil except for a good complete fertilizer. Mine is superthrive foliage pro and nothing else. I don’t want a science experiment in my pot 🤪 And I’m not trying to naysay you Rachel, 🙏🫠 😘but I would be extremely wary of molasses…you’ll find lots of AI sources on the internet that say it’s excellent for beneficial microbes, but because it’s so high in sulfur, that will actually kill all the beneficial bacteria you’re trying to feed. 🙃

And the second reason I don’t use molasses is that you can actually cause an imbalance in your soil that is not “balanced back” easily. It can cause a nutrient lockout, which means your plants won’t be able to access any of their nutrients. And especially if you’re inside, using molasses can attract pests. But of course, Rachel probably has a much different experience than this!! I was thinking about using molasses before I saw how much sulfur is actually in it!

But other than that, fish poops 🐠 💩 and kelp are awesome!! I think Rachel got all your bases covered!! 🥰❤️❤️
