White patches on prickly pear?

I just got this prickly pear yesterday and am very excited about it! I noticed that there are some whiter patches on it - is this normal or anything to be concerned about? I also noticed 3 tiny black spiders in the bag when I brought it home and am concerned this is a pest, but don’t see any signs of spider mites. #PricklyPear

I think it’s just how it grows and it’s like stretch marks I have the same thing and never had pears. Spider mites I think are different
