What’s wrong with my Boobie cactus!???

Question

It’s quite soft to the touch and has these weird brown spots.  
What am I doing wrong!😭

How often do you water? And what is the humidity level where you live? Brown spots and softness could indicate overwatering.

@Kallysta @PetsNPlants if it has not been watered excessively, but it is still brown but not squishy; it could be corking which is where the base of cacti turns a brownish color and it hardens to help support the weight of the cactus.

If it really starts to go downhill chop it above the damage let it callous over at least 5 days and replant it deep enough to give it some sturdiness.
