Are Plantain Lily’s poisonous to cats?

#Hosta #catsandplants
Yes. They are.
There are saponins in the plant the can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
Thank you! I am new to gardening and seems to be conflicting info on some plants online. This app seemed to be the best. Have a great day I’ll be removing this
@Allaboutcats you don't have to remove the post. (:

It might help someone else in the future. πŸ’š
Hi , bought this house about ten years ago and there were huge mounds of the plantain lilies all over my land Dug up a bunch of them and gave them away because I wanted to put in raised beds for veggies and herbs and flowers. Still have a lot of those left and never had any issues with my cat with them. He is a Feral cat and I’ve had him now for ten years. He has become a lovey dovey kitty and my best bud. He never bothers with them and I did not know they were poison. I have so many of them. Do you have problems with cats eating them ? I also have a lot of strays that I feed and I have never had a problem with cats and those plants. It’s up to you but just wanted to let you know with all the cats in the woods that come everyday and my cat not one have ever bothered with the plants. Just wanted to let you know because I have so many. Of course it’s up to you whether you should remove them or not. Just thought I’d share my experience with you. πŸ€ͺπŸŒ±πŸ’•πŸˆπŸ˜‚πŸ™Œ
