I got a couple questions. I was busy a work these last 2weeks itβs been super hot outside and kinda cold inside the house so some of my plants are staying moist, is that ok? Also some contain the small nats. What can you recommend for help. 1more question 1 plant has bugs in the pot should I replant?
Ok, so I'm gonna need a lot more info to accurately answer your questions π First, what kind of plants? When you say it's been hot outside and cool inside, are the plants inside? Outside? I can tell you that fungus gnat are most often a sign your soil is staying damp too long. Figuring out WHY it's staying damp too long is the first step to getting rid of them. Several things could be causing it, such as soil type, pot type, pot size, watering frequency, how much light the plant gets, and so on. Lastly, can you take photos of the bugs in the soil, or at the very least describe them? Some are harmless, others not so much. Need to properly ID what type of bugs you're dealing with before recommending repotting.
@BigtimeTutu70 are they moving? Can you brush them off? They could be one of two possible things. One is thrips larvae, the other is the shed skins from aphids. Thrips larvae will be moving around, but the shed skins aren't alive so you should be able to brush them off. Thrips larvae only stay on leaves though, not in the soil. Hopefully it's the shed aphids skins, because aphids are MUCH easier to treat than thrips.
