Help, I’m freaking out! I was watering leonardo and found this creature floating in the water. Please tell me it’s just a “normal bug,” and not a plant pest!! I will add that it was still alive even after giving it a nasty squish with the tweezers. 🤢 I then proceeded to flush it into the city!

Looks like a soil centipede! And if that’s the case, you just got rid of a really good friend :( They are great for the plant
I found a bunch of those in a bird's nest fern plant shortly after I bought it. I also read they're beneficial but the write-up I found about them said they can potentially eat up the plant roots so because my plant was small and I didn't want to risk losing it, I opted to get rid of them because there were waaaaaaay too many of them in the pot. I put the critters outdoors to find some new soil/plants to help out. If I ever find them again in one if my plants I might redistribute among my plant collection if I can ever overcome the ick factor I have with these creepy critters 😂🫠
@ballondusoleil , I think if I find any more, I might put them outside. But oooo, I hate creepy crawlers! 😱
@Drebsky , thank you for the information. At least it’s not a pest, which was my concern!
