Okay I had a few leaves fall off my Hoya and now itโ€™s shooting from where the leaves fell! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฆ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Excuse mam, where do y ou expect me to wrap these? ๐Ÿซฃ do I let them hang? Will they hang she looks like she wanna climb higherโ€ฆ. This girl needs to calm down Iโ€™ve never seen a plant grow like this in the winter!

Any ideas are appreciated I donโ€™t wanna undo her trellis to switch it out she is wrapped in there tightโ€ฆ donโ€™t even know if itโ€™s possible to switch the trellis out at this pointโ€ฆ

@Louisxvi I know Iโ€™m so excited!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ For a split second I ๐Ÿ˜ณ and then realized, ooh yay! Springtails!

So I use this stuff for my trellises. You can cut it to any length, bend it, and then just stick it in the soil right next to where your old trellis goes in. If you make it tall enough, then your Hoya potentially will have some more room!
I just switched my Hoyas to trellises a month or so ago and Iโ€™m undecided if I like it for that reason! Itโ€™s harder for me to track growth, and Iโ€™m worried about what we will do when we outgrow it. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
@MamaLinne so I loved the idea at first but now I almost wish I let her hang and Iโ€™m debating on my othersโ€ฆ I have many smaller Hoyas that arenโ€™t no where near there yet but now watching this monster give me a hard time is making me think maybe itโ€™s best to let climb up at wall type trellis or just hang because the stems are now like.. indented the way the were wrappedโ€ฆ. Like thereโ€™s no unwrapping this ๐Ÿคฃ
@Louisxvi hmmm maybe thatโ€™s my cute to un-trellis mine while I still can!
@MamaLinne DO IT HONESTLY , if you want her to be easy going โ€ฆ until the formula is figured out I definitely think trellis takes some experience! Again I feel like the ones who grow upright are probably easier to handle! But Iโ€™m scared this thing is gonna take over my plant shelf! ๐Ÿคฃ
@Louisxvi doing it today!! This is the one in question. I honestly think I liked the trailing look better anyway- Iโ€™m not a fussy person and even though this is pretty, it looks fussy to me.
@Louisxvi @MamaLinne I am also Team Not Really Sure if I Like Trellises and for Sure I Donโ€™t Like Poles. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ However, Karine, for yours, since it is already sooo throughly wrapped, could you add another trellis? I really like powder coated clothesline wire, thats what I used to make my trellises, and you can just add a second taller trellis if youโ€™re running out of room. I let the vines grow long until I can wrap them down and still have length to have them pointing up, but they sure get wild .
@DreamMachine @Louisxvi oh man Iโ€™m having serious regret for putting my monsteras on moss poles! I just donโ€™t like the way they look and theyโ€™re a pain in the you know what! Maybe Iโ€™ll take them down!
@MamaLinne yeah Deb!! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ I only put three up, a golden pothos, a scindapsus, and my beloved lemon lime philo, and I liked my lemon lime SO much better when it dangled. PLUS you might lol, but this didnt really cross my mind, that you have to spray or water the freaking POLE every other day!!! WTH?? My adhd ainโ€™t got TIME for that! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m at least getting my lemon lime off of it! Glad to find a like minded plant person. Plus! You canโ€™t hang pots with poles! I donโ€™t have the floor space
@MamaLinne @Louisxvi I did it! And I found springtails in the bottom of my pot!! ๐Ÿฅณ I kinda wanna make them their own little home but for now I just quickly put the nursery pot back in it! ๐Ÿ˜…

Before and after. I draped one of the longer vines back into the pot to hopefully root there too, but the other longer vine didnt want to move that way. โ€ฆPlease ignore the giant pile of laundry in the background ๐Ÿคฃ
@DreamMachine @MamaLinne OKAY to trellis or not to trellis ๐Ÿคฃ

Also Iโ€™m going to start Brain storming on finding a way to get a second trellis on there because ya sheโ€™s is tightly wrapped, she ainโ€™t going no where LOL

The springtails is like a reward ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜ญ Iโ€™m so happy for you omg the best little buggers to find! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š
@DreamMachine I cannot and will not moss pole for this reason, I have so many problems I donโ€™t need a moss pole driving me NUTS. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ she looks so pretty hanging ๐Ÿ’š
@DreamMachine also the giant pile of laundry in the back matches mine , twins ๐Ÿคฃ girl this ainโ€™t Facebook we take you as you are, laundry and all! ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅณ
@DreamMachine is this Amazon buy where do I find this magic stuff ๐Ÿฅน I need that would be perfect lol because the trellis is actually little lose adding something else in the same holes would help support it! ๐Ÿฅน
@Louisxvi whoops forgot my picture. I just bend this wire into a hoop and stick both ends in the soil.
@Louisxvi I got this at a hardware store! I wonder if you can search for it by the part number?
@DreamMachine perfect , will be adding this to the list thank you so so much I didnโ€™t even think of that, SO SMART ๐Ÿค“
@DreamMachine thatโ€™s even better , Iโ€™m in Canada home hard ware is literally around the block I will be going in the am ! Showing them the tag always helps thank you so so much Nadia ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿ’š
@Louisxvi it was me, being a cheap a** ๐Ÿ˜‚ I didnโ€™t want to pay $10 for a couple trellises ๐Ÿ˜‚ And this is ~$8 and you could make 25 two foot long trellises!
@Louisxvi my pleasure!! Woohoo!!
@Louisxvi I just keep it simple and bend it into a shape like this. But you could totally make it fancier and put loops/spirals into it too!
@DreamMachine ahhh itโ€™s beautiful! It makes me breathe a sigh of relief to see it freed! Iโ€™ll post mine tomorrow - I am definitely taking mine down
@MamaLinne It gave me the feeling like taking a ponytail or bun out after a long day. Ahhhhhh. ๐Ÿ˜ Iโ€™m doing the other two today!!
Freed the monsteras today @dreammachine @Louisxvi ! I like them so much better. And way easier to water now! I just need a way to sort of prop them/hold them- have you seen those little support things? Iโ€™m thinking of ordering some.
