Is the app's watering advice accurate?
I, so I have had this app for a couple of months now and in the beginning I was told that it takes time for Doug to learn my plants and will eventually figure out the watering schedule but even after I keep snoozing some of my plants, I keep getting notifications to water my plants. The plants it keeps telling me to water are my snake plant, cactus, succulents, fig tree, pothos, etc….these plants don’t need much water during the winter months so I’m really confused why it wouldn’t know that? I keep snoozing those plants because they only need to be watered once a month and few of them every other month. I feel like the watering reminders are not accurate at all. Is there something else I need to do? I have filled out the info on each plant fully. Thanks.

Adding to @Boymom-plantmom’s comment, it could also be because in some places temps are changing and plants all over the world are adjusting as is. It’s possible because the algorithm keeps changing and being updated, this may be affecting Greg’s current inputs.
Maybe @RJG can elaborate more 😁
Also this option when in profile settings, I know it affects how Greg receives your inputs. It’s all the way at the bottom but I believe Ease is to make plant care…easy! Meaning less “work” and less maintenance. Balanced is pretty self explanatory and Growth is more so targeted for those that would like to be more involved and hands on with their plants to promote more growth.

@dreamlettuce yes!!
Do you mean Greg?
How long have you been consistently using the app?
Greg complies all the information about the plants being grown in the app, considers your plant card for each plant, considers your location, and then sends watering suggestions based on all of that information.
@Boymom-plantmom and I live in the same area and have many of the same plants, but our pots and medium are different; our windows and plant placements are different. We use the same app so our notifications may be similar, but we still need to fine-tune the notifications by "snoozing" and "watering" sometimes.
In the winter, I change my app to "Ease" since I water less. In the summer, I change it to "growth" because the sun BAKES my plants.
I'm specifically thinking about my snake plant - it took a little while to get the app to not remind me every week to water it. I water mine just a little every three weeks now.
Do you water the amount the app tells you to? That could be a difference too. The app might be telling you to water less than you do, but more often.

@Boymom-plantmom yes, very thorough on every plant.
@sarahsalith yes, I meant Greg. Lol and I’ve filled out the information thoroughly and I’m still getting suggestions to water plants that barely need to be watered in the winter. I ended up watering a couple of my pothos and now I have a couple of yellow leaves. ☹️
@sarahsalith hi, I do water the amount the app tells me to water my plants. For example- Greg tells me to water my snake plant, Prickly Pear, and Ponytail Palm 1.5 cups. They’re larger plants but 1.5 cups every other week in winter. I know this is incorrect so I keep snoozing it. It’s been frustrating.
@dreamlettuce where in this app do I select ease, balanced, and growth for my plants? I’m still trying to learn how to navigate around this app. Thanks so much!
I just found where to select ease, growth, and balanced. Does this make a difference selecting one of these?
