Feeling hopeful, there doesn’t seem to be any rot in the top part of the cactus. Letting it callous over and then I will attempt propagating! The lighting is horrible in these pictures, it is greener than it looks here

@SerenePoisonivy Once you place it in soil, don’t water it until it has established roots. If the cactus has no roots it can’t absorb water so no need to water until there are roots.
@Ms.Persnickety ooooh good to know, I would’ve watered it after planting!
