Don’t mind my yellow leaves but this might be a stupid question… why is my amaryllis sprouting from the side like this? Could it be another bloom? Or is it sprouting a baby? I know the bulb isn’t properly covered btw, I bought it from a store while it was in bloom and didn’t want to repot until the flowers died to prevent further stress. #Amaryllis #help #HappyPlants

@Lynsplants @Preciousplants1 What say you my amaryllis mentors? 🤗
@ReputableKale80 looks like a baby bulb to me! Leave it alone and let it mature. It will get energy from the mother and can be removed during the fall or dormancy period. It will take a few years before the baby will bloom. 🌺 Or if you don’t want a baby you can cut it off allowing all energy goes to mother bulb.
@ReputableKale80 I agree with @MariansOasis I let mine grow until they were tall and started to fall over. Than cut the leaves and put in in a brown paper bag, stored it til next season in a dark place.
@MariansOasis thank you for the advice, I’ll be sure to let it be until this September
@ReputableKale80 continue to water and fertilize until fall. He’ll be storing nutrients thst he’ll need to rebuild energy to bloom again next year.
Here’s the link to all info including how to prepare in fall for winter care. Have fun! https://share.google/M5GhYk2KZGoHXi32m
