I just transplanted my new tomato starts and watered them after they were left outside for 2-3 days. They are super wilted and not bouncing back. Any suggestions?
It might be some transplant shock, since repotting/transplanting causes plants stress. I agree with the other person who mentioned gradually acclimating them to full sun if they were somewhere getting less light previously. Move them out of direct sun and into a shady spot where they can hopefully recover.
@PMG1 actually tomato plants like their soil to stay consistently, evenly moist. Not soggy, but also not fully dried out. During the hottest parts of summer, tomato plants in full sun might even need to be watered daily so they don't wilt. And if you were suggesting fertilizer, potting soil already has it added, and if you have a plant that's struggling you definitely don't want to fertilize it. That will only worsen the issue.
