Hi! Im super new to gardening and love the look of succulents. I got some a couple weeks ago and have repotted them in succulent soil mixed with perlite. I have noticed some of the leaves are dieing on some and im not sure why. They are outside and get PLENTY of sun. And im making sure to not over water. Could it just be trauma from repotting?
@HAJOSH Hi Joshua, welcome to Greg! There are several possible causes so I’ll ask you summer questions to narrow it down.

You say they’re outside in full sun. When you bought them, were they in full sun wherever you got them? Even if the species prefers full sun, they will need to be slowly acclimated to those conditions, if they were not bought from an outdoor location. ☀️ First you move them outside into full shade, a couple days later you might let them sit in full sun for an hour and then move them back to shade. Next day maybe 2-3 hours of full sun, and so forth, slowly introducing them to their permanent conditions.

When you say you’re making sure not to overwater, what do you mean? How do you water? How many times, in the last couple weeks since you got them, have you watered? Most succulents need to be drenched thoroughly when it is watering day, and then be able to dry out completely. Do all your pots have drainage?

Excellent 🙌 for adding more perlite to your succulent soil, but In that first picture, I don’t see much perlite? 🧐 Those three pots might need done more drainage/aeration ingredients—perlite, pumice, etc.

All in all they look pretty great 👍 It also could very well just be the transition from previous location to your place and being repotted. So I would advise to enjoy your new plants and keep monitoring them. I would only think it a cause for alarm if you suddenly have multiple and numerous leaves yellowing and dropping.

Hi thanks, I got them from many places but now that you mention it they were in a but of shade and I put them in direct sun. I can definitely add more perlite and yes I made sure they all have drainage. As for watering I soak the soil and then wait till its completely dry before watering again. Unfortunately though its been raining a lot. I will put them in the shade and make sure the soil dries out. Thanks for your help amd advice!
But yes I do have multiple leaves yellowing and dropping. From multiple plants.
