Just a lil trick I found recently to get my cats to leave my plants alone! 
 
First, buy some lemongrass essential oil and put about 15 drops in a spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way with water. (this oil is very strong and you don't need much!)  
 
Shake the bottle and spray some on your plants and anything else you don't want them to touch. Make sure no to spray directly on your cat! 
 
Some other notes:: 
 
I bought my lemongrass oil from Handcraft Blends on Amazon. It comes in a 4oz container which is plenty! 
 
The spray bottle I use is also found on Amazon and is 24floz (brand is professional sprayer) 
 
How often you spray will depend on what you spray it on because the smell dissipates over time. I use this to keep my cats from scratching the back of the couch as well as on my plants. 
 
For plants - once a week 
For anything else - once a day or every couple of days
