Mealybugs on my Baltic Blue Pothos!
Ohhhhh boy, this isnβt how I wanted to kick off the new year π I found two mealybugs on my Baltic Blue. I think they were dead already, but Iβm not sure because I just went into kill mode with my alcohol mix and asked questions later ππ€·πΌββοΈ Not my finest moment, running through the house with tears in my eyes with a spray bottle, mumbling about βthese mealy MFβs are going to learn todayβ while my family watches in confusion π I have gotten a few new plants recently, but I ALWAYS check them and quarantine them before integrating with my other plants. I also look at my plants almost every day for any signs of stress, pests, etc. so Iβm sort of scratching my head on how TF this happened, lol. My Baltic has been around for about a month or so now, so I donβt THINK they came on it. I really donβt see how they made it in here, except I did bring three plants inside from outside when we had the cold snap over Christmas. Theyβve been thrown back outside for several days now though, because I found a spider (not a spider mite, a dang wolf spider, you know, the ones that look like mini tarantulas π) in one of them and we do not do arachnids in this house. Itβs the one pest on the planet Iβm terrified of, so those plants belong to the spiders now π³ Iβm thinking maybe the mealies came from one of those? Ugh, I really donβt know and thatβs the part that drives me absolutely bonkers, lol. One of the first subjects I researched with plants was pests and I proactively bought pest control supplies, so at least Iβm prepared. I see no signs of infestation anywhere. My one question is, when I proactively treat my plants, do I need to remove them all from their pots? Itβs like I know what I need to do and the steps to take, but this is pretty much my worst plant nightmare so now I feel completely overwhelmed and stressed and have no idea where to start π #PestControl

@AwesomePlants LOL that was me yesterday π Iβm not taking my chances, I plan on quarantining this plant for AT LEAST a month, and itβs going to be treated weekly (or as needed, if I see another one of these little π©s) hahaha! Happy New Year! β€οΈ
