Growing woodland oats in SE Texas

#WoodlandOats Growing Inland Sea Oats (Chasmanthium latifolium) outside under a shaded catio in SE Texas. Substrate is normal outside top soil (slightly acidic, moist, with decent drainage) covered with one layer of pond stones, untreated. Grown from seeds from Native American Seed (seedsource.com); dispersed as instructed on website, and divets in the rocks were made for easier rooting. We watered them regularly for the first couple of days then let the weather take over for the most part. We continue to weed invasive plants.
Just documenting my experience incase other people in the area would like to learn from it. Hopefully someone besides me starts growing some.
Here's some progress from the first four of thirteen sprouts so far after a month. Im not an expert by any means. #nativegardening
I picked C. latifolium because my cat loves to roll around in grasses, and it seemed like the easiest, non-invasive ground cover to grow under shade that's not toxic to cats.
