Hi #FairyCastleCactus #Cactus fam! Help!My poor little guy isn’t looking so hot. One side just turned much lighter color than the other 2 and is a little squishy. I assume I overwatered. The last watering was Nov 14 and I’ve been watering a small amount every 2-3 weeks. It has a grow light. Can the damaged portion be saved?
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 7 months ago
Good Afternoon, I think you might have overwatered your Cactus. I think your Cactus would be better planted in a succulent/ cactus soil mix and also a terracotta pot. Your planter might be holding on to, to much water. What are those light color stones? I hope this helps
Thank you! @SweetAzurebluet I tried a new pot and added dry succulent soil. 🀞🏻
@PearlPlants Good to hear, let me know how your β€œFairy Castle Cactus is being! πŸ˜‰ Was the damage potion salvageable, or was it rotted. Also if you are not sure about watering, a moisture meter is good to have. Also wait until your Cactus soil is dry, before watering
Hi Pearl, mine started to look like yours..so I repotted in new cactus/succulent soil- 50%, and added 50% Perlite and Pumice. I also had to move mine from where it was getting hot afternoon Texas sun, to east facing morning sun and afternoon shade. Fairy Castles need 4-6 hours minimum of direct sunlight a day. Your plant id says watered 7 months ago? Watering should be every 2-3 weeks, especially if hot. I had a bit fall off mine and it rooted- it was so tiny I didn’t see it so it sat on top of the soil sideways- and now it’s about 2 inches tall
