@plantsandjesus I updated the original comment with a link....I do think it's a stressed Kalanchoe, and you will have it right as rain as soon as all of its needs are addressed πŸ‘
Are the leaves thick, a little rubbery feeling, and flexible? Based on leaf shape and the appearance of the stem, I think it may be a Florist Kalanchoe. I've not seen one with red on the undersides of the leaves, but since there are way more plants than I can possibly see in my lifetime, it wouldn't surprise me.

Ah! Well here we go.... 5 reason your Kalanchoe might be turning red.

@UltraKoreanfir they feel like that exactly!! thank you i’ll do some picture referencing from the internet LOL! :))
@UltraKoreanfir update it’s definitely a succulent, the brand says β€œsucculents and cacti”
@UltraKoreanfir ill try some of those remedies!! i think it might have been the heat; it was outside in 100 degree weather the past few weeks! do you think it’s a kalanchoe sexangularis?
@plantsandjesus hmmm...certainly could be 🧐.
Nice investigative skills πŸ˜‰
@UltraKoreanfir thank you!! a little update on him:

his new name is Romaine… lol
i repotted him in a terracotta 6 or 8 in pot
he’s out of that sweltering heat that might’ve been adding to the stress. plus his soil was sopping wet when i repotted. good thing i did asap!!! that wouldve been a case of root rot for sure. thank you for your help!!!! πŸ¦‹πŸ’š
@plantsandjesus You're welcome, Samantha!
I love the new name! When I first saw the picture this morning, my first response was going to be "lettuce" πŸ˜‚

Terracotta is a good choice. It helps absorb some water to reduce the likelihood of overwatering. I like terracotta a lot. I'm glad you re-potted it! Kalanchoe does like sun, but I agree that the heat is probably too high a lot of the days recently.
I can't wait to see what Romaine looks like when flowering!
