James Dean, our office Palm, is really struggling.
Last Friday I elevated it on top of the file cabinet to reach more light. I am hoping the yellowing is due to lack of light
But the branches are also folding in half as if they aren’t strong enough to support the tops?
Any tips? Greg says water 3/4 cup every 10 days, this doesn’t seem like enough for a tropical plant. Please advise

Hi Lilli!
You're right that part of the issue could be light since it's a north-facing window.
The soil wants to stay evenly moist so once the top couple inches have dried out it is ready for water again. If Greg seems a bit off be sure you tell it when you water so it can catch up.
I'm wondering if another issue is humidity. I see it's close to a/c which and lower the humidity and if it's really close to the unit the chill and constant air flow can provide a less than ideal environment. Can you elaborate a little more on the a/c placement?

We’ll see how she does in next couple weeks closer to the not frosted bit of the window
For watering, it prompts me for 3/4 cup every 10 days (have only had the plant long enough for one 2 waters so far)
The top is dry but there is moisture below the top layer, the shop we bought the plant from suggested it may be too much water with the yellowing leaves
This black slit in the ceiling to the left of the plant is the AC vent
It probably 5 ft or so away?
