I can’t understand why my asparagus plant is dying. I went into the ask for help. They said it needed water. I’ve taken care of that. But it keeps dying. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP A PLANT LOVER OUT? This my first time growing this plant. I keep reading y’all post. Every one says it’s easy to grow…not for me
There is still some green, so it’s still living. Now to narrow down the culprit, which is (unhelpfully) over or under watering.
Can you tell us how the soil feels? See if it still feels wet or moist when you stick a finger inside it. And what type of soil?
@FamedGymealily it’s moist and I used Miracle Grow Potting Soil
@MeekEndive65 My educated guess is overwatering. The pot looks a bit big for the fern, so too much water is suffocating the roots, especially since standard Miracle-Gro tends to hold onto moisture for a long time.

Trimming away the dead brown fronds and repotting it into a smaller pot with fresh, well-draining soil (mixing in perlite or orchid bark helps keep it airy) will give it the best chance to recover.
@FamedGymealily thank you! I will prune and repot later today. I’ll keep you posted.
@MeekEndive65 good luck! Loosen the roots and give them a once over, removing any wet soil around them will help them breathe better.
