What is happening to my gardenias? Purchased 2 weeks ago, planted half and half are still in the pots but all the leaves are curling and turning brown towards the roots #gardenia
8” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 years ago
I’m sorry your Gardenia leaves are curling and turning brown. There are several possible reasons why.
πŸ’§Over/under watering:
Water your plant only when the top inch of the soil feels dry.
πŸ’¦ The quality of your water:
Don’t water it with alkaline or hard water nor tap water. The chemicals in these waters can buildup in the soil and cause your leaves to wilt.
🌞 Temperature Trauma: Did the temperatures drop below 60 degrees F. (or 15 degrees C.)? Is the temperature during the day getting too hot? Gardenia prefer tropical temperatures; 70-75 F or 21-22 C..
▫️Finally, check for pest infestation.
πŸ™ l hope your Gardenia will make a speedy recovery.
@BigProsomillet Phuoc here is some info on your plant that might help you decide what is going on with your plant!! https://www.gardenia.net/guide/learn-how-to-grow-and-care-for-your-gardenia my guess is going to be water issue of some sort but take a look as you know the care you have provided up to this point! πŸ˜πŸ€—πŸ™ŒπŸ»
