My suggestion would be to attempt to replicate its environment. The soil should be evenly moist and it should get enough sunlight to make it think it's still sitting beside the river.
Humidity is the key to a fern! Here on the other side of the state, I usually have 70% humidity in my house! My plants love it, my furniture - not so much. ๏ฟผ ๏ฟผ

I live about 100 ft from a river so it shouldnt be hard to replicate its environment ive walked by it atleast 50 times and thought it looked pretty but it never really grew much due to where it was at so i decided id finally bring it up and put it in a pot
