Hi guys I just got my first plant! It's a golden barrel cactus and I need tips and tricks on how to care for it.

Sun and cactus soil that drains well a little water every 2-3 weeks and a pot not much bigger than the cactus. You got this!

put it in a pot 2 inches bigger than the cactus, and use a cactus potting mix, with 50% cactus mix, and 50% perlite, pumice stone, or chunky rocks, and water one a month, and when it is the first of the month, give it a deep watering, to mimic the heavy rain the desert gets once a month.
