Mornin, Sierra! Those Gerberas LOVE LOVE LOVE sunlight! Here in the humid south, you'll find them growing in gardens.
Is there a place you can put it that gets LOTS of sun? Keeping in mind, you might have to water it daily if it's in a small pot outside.
The flowers don't last long, they will begin to get limp before they die off completely. You can always trim them near the base to make the rest of the plant look good.
