Hey y’all! How do you log your self watering pots? Struggling with that in the app
I log mine as watered on the day I add water to the bottom.
@RefinedSandwort do you still put it as in soil?
@CBabyBlue I bought two pothos plants this summer that came in self watering pots. When I get a watering reminder I look to see if the base part is dry. If so, I put water in the base part and then log it as watered, just like I count plants watered that are not in self watering pots.
@CBabyBlue My self watering pots have a wick that drops down into the water in the base. Even though the plant is soaking up water on other days, I only count it when I add water to the pot.
@RefinedSandwort thank you!! I was doing the same initially but I get reminders quicker than its time to water sometimes
@CBabyBlue Use the watering reminders as a reminder to check your pot/plant to see if it needs watering or not. You can always snooze the reminder if it’s not ready for watering. The reminders are not perfect. I have some plants that are pretty much ready for watering when I get the reminders, others, not so much. The reminders adjust over time, but there’s no way for them to account for the individual differences in homes, soil mixes, etc. If I didn’t have the reminders, I might forget to check some of mine!
