Hi Sally, judging by the picture it looks like your plant may be in too small pot. Is she getting adequate drainage? I would transplant it in a new pot of fresh soil. Also, I would give her the chopstick test. That means put a chopstick in the soil all the way down. It’s chopstick comes up with soil sticking to it. The soil is too wet. Be careful not to disturb the roots. Second of all how close is she to the window? If it’s near the window, put your arm next to the Plant facing the window and leave it there for a minute. It’s the sun is too hot on your your hand it’s too hot on the plant. I hope this helps. Good luck. πŸ‘
I think your little plant needs a larger pot
@MalagueΓ±a hi the pot has lots of drainage i will try a new pot, i put it in the smaller one because my last caladiums roots started to rot because it had too much soil, i actually keep all my plants under grow lights because there aren’t any windows in my house with enough light for my plants, would putting it outside after winter is up be a good idea? obviously not in direct sun but a im thinking a more natural light will help (i live in australia so it will be plenty warm enough at night in summer)
@Kittylover1612 alright thank you πŸ™ i will be doing this right now
will change the pot up now these are the roots compared to the pot she was in. any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated πŸ€—
@Kittylover1612 hey i only have these 2 pots they are the smallest i have right now i really dont want to over pot, what one would you recommend
Hi Sally, I live in Florida. Of course it is summertime here now.οΏΌI do have a Caladium Plant. It’s out in the sun most of the day. I believe it’s winter in you’re part of the world right now. If it gets too cold, just bring it back in. We did have some cold weather here last winter and I was bringing my plants in and putting them in the house in the garage. I think grow lights are a good idea. Just remember to keep them a certain distance from the Plant. The arm to the window test is very good. Good luck. I hope you are well. BobοΏΌ
@MalagueΓ±a hey thanks so much for your comment i really want to visit florida actually lol. thanks so much for letting me know about keeping it outside im not too sure ill put it out at the moment as australian winter nights get super cold it can get to 3C about 37 F but i will definitely make the move in spring! thanks again
