This is what they’re looking like now! ChatGPT says they look good overall, but what do yall think? I live in New Mexico, near ABQ. I live up at around 7300ft above sea level so we get a lot of intense sunlight. Right now, they’re outside as it’s summer. They’re in a shaded part (to the side of a planter box) so they’re not getting full sun all day. I say they get about maybe 5ish hours? I water them about once a week to about a week in a half since we are so high up and with the sun, everything dries out and evaporates faster. I plan to repot them eventually. When would be the best time?

Hi Anna! I do temember, and he is looking great!!! Look at that gorgeous ruby color!!! Last time you posted about him he didn’t have that much color, and they have grown nicely since then! Whatever you’re doing- keep it up as they’re really liking it. Your milk tree is a “Rubra” which is why it’s so red. If you repot- a smaller pot would be best as a 10” looks too big. (I have mine in a 10 or 12 inch pot- but mines much larger.). I would put all of them in a 4-5 inch terracotta pot w/ drainage. Remember- there’s are prone to root rot so in that large pot, the soil holds too much water. (If you plan to separate them, each one to a 2-3 inch pot.) Great job Anna!! 🪴💕

@SillyPlantGirl thanks for your advice! I may replant them soon, but am so scared it’ll hurt them as they’ve been doing so good 😅I mixed the soils with cactus soil, New Mexico sand/dirt, and just normal plant soil and it seems to drain well! I have a rod in the soil to track growth as well as moisture level and it seems to drain and dry out pretty well. I’ve also added a tiny bit of this cactus fertilizer thing, I can’t remember the name, I got it from Walmart. I added it to a big watering can, and watered all my plants with it, any that seems to help as well! I think me moving it to where it’s shaded for a lot of the day and then in the sunlight closer to late afternoon has helped!
My big planter that has a lot of different succulent and cactus plants in it, I bought a grill cover to cover it on our really sunny days so they don’t get too sun damaged and that seems to help too!
