Accidentally wet my air plant's root

Soak time!
I accidentally got bit of the root wet...but i hope she'll be fine after she dries....at least its not touching the water now... #airplant
I dunk mine root and all and then hang upside down to dry.
@Boymom-plantmom i did a Little research and a lot of articles said not to get the root wet.
@shopofhorrors it would be fine getting the roots wet. They do in nature. What is more important is making sure water doesn't get trapped in the crown, because when that does, the plant's core rots. The thing with tillandsias is to ensure very, very good air circulation to ensure they dry before the end of the day.

Mine all live outside and are fully doused by a hose. Before that, they lived in my bathroom and were watered by my shower hose. It's all about drying it and making sure water doesn't stay in the core while drying.

Xerographicas are prone to rotting indoors because of their very open crown, so water is accidentally stuck inside it when there isn't adequate airflow
@foliagegirl so use a fan when drying upside down?
@shopofhorrors yes, but really they should have good air circulation at all times
