She’s now growing into my plant shelf , ☕️🐸

This girl was like this trellis is nice but I got HIGHER goals.

But I kinda like what’s she’s doing but I’m scared I won’t be able to separate her from my shelf.. hmm what to do? I need a vote, let her take over my shelf or extend trellis?

I’d like to be adventurous and allow her to explore! But I’m too practical… wondering what kinda mess I’d be getting into down the road 😝 🙈. Practical me votes 🗳️ keep winding around the trellis. It’ll encourage more energy on leaves and flowers 🌺. LOVE the pubicalyx btw!! 🫠👍🥰
@MariansOasis that’s exactly my problem what if I need to move her and she won’t allow me to in th future I’m truly torn right now 🥲. Thank you for your advice my dear I think I will have to extend her, I just have micro managing this thing he truly does what she wants 🤣
@Louisxvi I’m so sorry to see you battled thrips last year! They are the nastiest of creatures 😖 for our houseplants 🙈🙊🙉!! Hopefully 🤞 2026 is thrips free🙌. LOVE your Hoyas especially that Hoya parasitica 'Black Margin' 🫠🥰🫠. And the Sound of Music 🎼 mug is adorable!
@MariansOasis I’ve been very lucky I got it down to a science and I’ve been thrips free since September , KNOCK ON WOOOOOD.

I do use the hypoasis? Lol I can’t remember but it’s a soil mite that lives inside the soil really helps prevent and I do plan on doing routine release of beneficial through the summer!

Also if you have not look into nematodes! They saved my life lol
@MariansOasis happy and thrips free aha, had to restart a few Hoyas from cuttings but everything is growing so beautifully! 🙃🥲
@Louisxvi oooh thanks for the info on hypoaspis, never heard of them before. Very interesting mite.
@MariansOasis I honestly swear by them, I’m kinda thinking you do need to reapply because I bottom water and I think I drowned mine honestly I haven’t seen movement in a while I applied in September
@Louisxvi yeah from what I briefly read water can wash them away so reapplying would be a good thing. Did you order them from any place in particular?
I live in Ontario Canada I ordered them though a local plant shop near my house! I try to support local but I’m sure you could find them online!
@Louisxvi I think you’d be able to unwind her later if needed, but I’m practical like @MariansOasis and vote for getting her back on the trellis while you can do it easily 🗳️
That's awesome! Let it take over! 🌋
This is what they do. You can leaf her be. She'll change positions during the day.

They move toward the light when they want some sun and then away from the light when it's time for bed.

It's so cool to see it move throughout the day!
So cute! I’d say enjoy it like this for a while, and then make the switch before it’s too permanent.
@AwesomePlants hi so she definitely does not change positions as I’m in a basement and she has grow lights all around, there’s not searching for light here. Lol 😆 it’s stays exactly where she is lol. She just decided she’s climbing higher than her trellis I guess!
@MamaLinne I’ve been watching her go and I think she’s determined lol we’ll see how bad it gets lol
@MamaLinne now I gotta another runner trying to find the shelf LOL
@Louisxvi I have a 5 arm grow light pointing indifferent directions. I would see my hoya move throughout the day pointing towards and away from a grow light.

I had a hoya right in front of me where I work all day which is why I noticed it moved.

Plants are so cool.
