I just planted this as I just received. Came in all green some slightly brownish tips. I actually received 2 and planted them both the same. 1 is great, this one however is turning yellow. Please help.

@SelfstarterMiro looks like your draecena compacta needs to dry out a bit. If you don’t have it in a pot with drainage you will need to move it to one that has drainage.
This type of plant is prone to root rot when overwatered. So let it dry out a little more before watering again.
Pull or trim off the yellow/black leaves, they are not going to come back and your plant is better off focusing on the healthy part of the plant.
This plant also prefers water that is distilled and brown tips can be from chemical buildup from tap water.
Once you’ve let it dry out a bit, I would ‘sniff’ around the base of the plant. If it stinks (like rot - not good, dirt smell is good😊).
If it smells like rot you will need to treat your roots and repot with fresh soil.
To treat root rot, trim off any brown or squishy roots. Healthy roots are white. Then dunk your roots in a 1:4 hydrogen peroxide and water solution, only needs to be few minutes. The roots should fizz, and that’s a good thing. Then rinse your roots and repot in fresh soil.
These plants are pretty hardy and will come back from a little bit of overwatering. Just let it dry out a bit (not all the way, just mostly dry - I just stick my finger in the soil to test. If the soil is cold and sticks to your fingers then wait to water and check again in a few days.)
Since you are new to Greg, it will recommend you water your plant often, just ‘snooze’ the notification and Greg will remind you in a few days. Eventually Greg will learn a better schedule. Trust, but verify!
Good luck!! Let me know if you have any questions!!
