@CapableGarlic @Idplantthat can we have some more pictures? It’s kind of hard to tell what’s happening here with the pot blocking the view of the soil entry point.
We would also need your description of care. What climate, indoors or outside, what your watering routine, fertilizing, and how much light does your banana get?

@CapableGarlic hey Makenzie, I’d recommend cutting that all the way back to the base. Bananas 🍌 need chunky soil, and good strong air flow. They need humidity and bright indirect light. ☺️ Is your stock mushy at all? Nadia might be able to explain this better, she’s much better with words than I am. 🤣 But bananas are kinda like alocasias or anything with a corm. As long as your roots are healthy and happy, your plant will totally fine. Bananas can look terrible and even hide from light, they don’t follow the light as much as the moisture in the soil as well as the most nutrients. - bananas can last quite a while dormant to us (so no surface growth) but they are actually growing vast underground networks. If you have the three majors checked; well-draining soil; roomy’ish, good air circulation pot; and good lighting.. and you are still worried, I’d say give it a good cal-mag; and or something like a good monosilic acid. I actually just did a big post explaining it. But that’s just what I would say. I’d definitely ask Nadia, as I said she’s much better at explaining things 🥰
