For a cactus, the best type of pot is a terracotta pot. Make sure it's not more than an inch or two bigger than its current pot. Since that looks like a 3-3.5" pot, you'll want to get a 4 or 5" terracotta pot. If you can find one, get a pot that's wider than it is tall. The reason you don't want to plant your cactus in a pot that's too big is because it can lead to overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
As for soil, you'll want to get two things: a bag of cactus soil and a bag of perlite or pumice rock (perlite is the tiny styrofoam looking bits you see in most potting soil). Mix them together 50% cactus soil, 50% perlite or pumice.
The most important parts of caring for your cactus are giving it enough sunlight and not overwatering. The best spot if you plan to keep it indoors is right up against the glass of a west or south-facing window. If you have neither, you'll need to either keep it outside or get grow lights. Lastly, only water when the soil is completely dry. It's always best to err on the side of underwatering than overwatering! An underwatered cactus is an easy fix, but an overwater cactus, not so much.
I know you only asked about pot size, so sorry for rambling on about a bunch of other stuff lol ð Good luck, and if you have any other questions, just ask! ð
