Just wanted to share a photo of my rabbits foot fern!! He’s soooo prettyyy. When my other plants are being picky, this guys always happy lol. Also it’s growing more fronds!!! #RabbitFootFern #Fern #HappyPlants
10ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 3 days ago
Remy is STUNNING 😱🤩 I’ve had one on my list for a while after I saw one at my aunt’s and might have screamed a tiny bit because of those fuzzy rhizomes 😅 Thanks for showing how those new fronds come out, I’m in love!
@DreamMachine yeah the rhizomes can definitely make people squeamish, I’ve had a few people grossed out when they saw remy 😅 but I highly recommend this species of fern, they’re super easy to care for. They don’t require much attention to thrive, just water it consistently and make sure it has proper light requirements (remy gets bright shade). I like to mist him every few days focusing especially on the rhizomes, in my case he perks up and stays well hydrated that way.
Oh my goodness! It’s so beautiful! I want to touch it! But I have a terrible habit of touching pretty much all my plants, ha ha ha, but I really want to touch that rabbit foot. How long have you had it? Tell me your secret. I’m terrible with ferns, but I love them: lol
@Idplantthat I’ve had remy for a little over a month now, he’s got much more voluminous since then lol! Honestly with rabbits foot fern there’s not much to it, thanks to their rhizomes they’re really hardy in terms of hydration. All I do is water normally and mist every few days and he seems to enjoy it! And I totally understand wanting to touch the plant, rabbits foot ferns have such lacy and voluminous fronds it makes them feel very fluffy!
@Nature_freak9 who doesn’t want a fluffy plant? I might have to get one of these and try it again… ha ha I have two ferns I’ve kept alive this far and one fake fern… but rabbit foot I’ve always wanted… I don’t know Jake I think you’re talking me into this (because it’s so hard to talk a plant person into more plants) ha haha 🤣 🌿🌿🌿
@Idplantthat I’d say definitely go for it lol! They’re very common to find as well. I’m sure you’ll be able to not only keep a rabbits foot fern alive but also have it thrive!
@Nature_freak9 thanks for the faith, Jack! Lord knows I killed my fair share… so I might just have to get one 🤦‍♀️ Well, I’m going to now go fern shopping 🤣
