How’s everyone’s plants and trees doing this season so far? Here’s a quick top view of my small outdoor space here in Tokyo. Majority of my outdoor stuff are all various bonsai and other potted trees. Lots of growth so far this season. #HappyPlants #Bonsai #PlantsMakePeopleHappy
Drying out 😭
Any bonsai tips?
What a beautiful oasis you’ve created Kristopher!
Gorgeous space! 😻 Did you take down your greenhouse from the winter?
How beautiful! I would sit in this garden for hours 🌿
@PoliteCashew31 how’s the soil? Does it drain well or slowly? If it’s been windy where you live that might explain the drying out
@debbiedo lucky to have this much space here, so making the best of it!
@stephonicle a couple weeks ago I moved everything out over a few days and then scrubbed and disinfected it. Worked really well for the first time using it.
@CopiousAnacua28 there’s a spacious patio and alcove directly beneath where I’m standing. Best spot on nice afternoons to read or putter around with plants.
@FamedGymealily I wondered that, it seems like A LOT of space for Tokyo!
@debbiedo luckily I’m away from the downtown areas, so a bit more space. But we got luckily finding this place. So thankful for the outdoor space
@FamedGymealily the soil is a special bonsai mix so fast draining. but I think that it’s got a fungal infection, so if you have any tips for that I would love to here them!
@PoliteCashew31 the browning tips could be fungal or from changes in wind and temperature. The best thing you can do at the moment is use a pair of clean scissors and snip off all the brown tips. I also recommend laying some damp paper towel in the soil to catch the cut tips (easy clean up).
After that make sure it gets plenty of morning sunlight and try not to get the needles wet. Hopefully it’s enough for it to recover
