Another case of #deathbycinnamon

I have a new #Amaryllis and it’s in the not-so-great soil that came with the kit. It looks like it’s getting moldy and suspicious so I doused it with #deathbycinnamon

Cinnamon is not only a good natural root stimulant but it also kills bad bacteria and mold, without hurting your plant! πŸŒ±β˜€οΈβ€οΈ
3ft to light, indirect
5” pot with drainage

@RealSimpleMama I love natural remedies! So question, if I'm propagating a snake plant, you know, cut in an arrow shape and put in some perlite, should I dust with cinnamon before I put them in the pot?
@princesspitstop make sure you let it callous over first . We prop ours here in the greenhouse after it callouses directly into soil very heavy on perlite and vermiculite. They do well
@princesspitstop sure! It can be used with anything.
@Hoyaobsessed @RealSimpleMama Thanks guys! I totally forgot to leave them out. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I've never propagated one before. How long does it usually take before I see progress? Does it vary?Wish me luck 🀞
@princesspitstop IT WILL TAKE FOREVER. seriously. At least two months. Snakes are the slowest propping plants I know of.
@princesspitstop yep a long time !! I’ll go out to the greenhouse to see what ours are doing that we proped a couple months ago
@RealSimpleMama UGH 😩 LOL Well I've got nothing better to do πŸ˜‚ @Hoyaobsessed let me know how they're doing!
@princesspitstop you can see the photo to the right what they look like when they are not going to root. Gives you and idea what to look out for !
@Hoyaobsessed So some will root and some won't? If so I should probably prop more of them to increase my chances.
@princesspitstop you got the idea!! Yep I say every 6 pieces you do half will root especially if they are in a home
