Meet Demi & Ellie: my first propagation!

So I’m a first time plant mommy and this is my first time propagating πŸͺ΄πŸŒž Demi & Ellie are the mother plants 🫢🏽 #ElephantEar #Taro #StringOfHearts
0ft to light, direct
2” pot with drainage
Last watered 3 years ago
Did you pluck with root ? From Ellie or ?? Would like to propagate too
@PrincessWarrior No! So they grow croms. You’ll find them in the dirt and underneath the the plant. I tried water only but perlite and a closed container with some holes and water that worked fantastic
@PrincessWarrior they’ll eventually grow roots. But if you don’t have perlite. Make sure the tip of the corm is above water. So it can grow
Awesome thanks for the feedback much appreciated 😊
@PrincessWarrior ofc! Here’s about a 3/4 week update on mine
Interesting 😍 will definitely try
The elephant ear likely won’t grow roots. It develops from a root that you’d have to dig up. They usually give out little pups and you can pluck those off and plant them. A great plant to propagate over and over easily is a Pothos.
@GlimmeringGray hey Tiffany! I did eventually figure this one out a couple months ago. But I did successfully propagate a stem that had some corn attached to it 😁. Gave me 2 new beautiful babies
