My yucca got a massive scale infestation last year. I neemed him, covered him in DE, and put him in the basement away from the rest of the plants.
I decided to make him a "mother tree" I cut out the dead. Put prop balls on each limb and took a bunch of chonks, covered them in cinnamon, and stuck in the ground. It's been a couple weeks and I'm seeing new growth on a chonk and the main tree ๐๐ฅณ #yucca #propagation #propball

Oh Amanda!
So much loving care you have given your yucca.
He's rewarding you with that precious new growth.
Ain't Nature grand? ๐
Mysterious also.

@ITalk2Plants May I ask you to go into detail regarding the prop balls and exactly what they are? My dragon tree might profit from your method. Thanks tin advance!
@Ms.Persnickety I used clear plastic nesting pots. Cut it up the side and a hole in the bottom. Removed the bark like the image says. Put rooting hormone on it. Put the cup on and filled it with moist soil. Wrapped in clear plastic wrap and taped closed.
I prefer the clear cup so I can see what's going on. You don't want the dirt in the cup to dry out and I want to be able to see the roots. If the prop ball isn't clear a good hint that you have a good root ball is you will see new growth push out below the prop part. That's when I cut below the prop ball take off the cup and put the new plant in the soil.
Good luck with your dragon tree.
I added more photos to yucc Norris so you can see the prop balls better.
