She’s been through it, my calathea Dottie arrived in great shape, after three months she decided she wasn’t happy. I tried water then had to cut her back to nothing and submerge in perlite. Then this cute little leaf emerged. ☺️ #NewGrowth #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #CalatheaCrew
3ft to light, indirect
4” pot without drainage

@JenniB81 thank you, I didn’t think it was going to work, but I’m glad it did.
@Momof83ans yay! Just like my Dottie. She also had to start over after a bad case of rootrot🙈. I used pon. She had several backlashes and is still recovering, but has managed to grow a new healty set of roots and leaves now🤗 Pic of her 2 first new leaves and now😊
Rooting for your Dottie too!🩷💜

@MockingJay wow! That is amazing, nice work. Are you going to keep it in pon? I’m trying to figure out if I want to move it to water or another medium. I don’t know much about pon but I’m open to all suggestions.
@Momof83ans I think pon is mostly like perlite.
After keeping some of my calatheas in pon and some of them in a well-draining soil-mix I feel they like it better in soil. Probably because I'm not 100% sure how to fertilize and the pon don't keep the nutrients like the soil does. So they quickly get either too much or too little🙈
I will probably transfer her to soil again when I am sure she will manage😂

@MockingJay manage until they don’t, am I right? Such drama!
