@joyousful that's definitely a Crassula ovata, also known as a Jade plant. I have several large Jade bushes in planters outside. They love full sun, really as much as you can give it. If you plan to keep it indoors, it'll need to be in a south or west-facing window to get enough light. When they don't get enough direct light, their growth becomes elongated/leggy and they stay all green (direct sun brings out their lovely shades of orange and red). These succulents are extremely drought tolerant so they can go a very long time between waterings. The most common reason people's jade plants die is from overwatering, so be sure to let the soil fully dry out and always check it prior to watering. When in doubt, it's better to underwater than overwater. An underwatered jade is an easy fix, but an overwatered jade...not so much.
I'd also recommend repotting it in the near future. The soil commercial growers use is very moisture retaining, which isn't a good fit for succulents long term. They need a very gritty, well-draining, fast drying soil. Any cactus or succulent soil with extra perlite or pumice rock added is perfect (mix 50% cactus soil, 50% perlite or pumice). Succulents also do best in terracotta pots since they're porous, which helps the soil dry out much faster.
