What is the best hanging pot for #Orchids kept outside? And when do you repot them? I got this for Mother’s Day.

One that is breathable is great. One that has many holes or slits in it for the orchid roots to come out of are great because Phalanopsis orchids are epiphytes in the wild growing on trees with their long flat roots.

I was thinking of getting one of these open wood slat type of planters, but how does the orchid potting mix stay in there? Do I need some sort of inner tray or anything to hold it all in?

You could line it with something that’s able to still be pushed out of the way for the orchid roots to go out. As long as you’re careful though, I don’t think it will be needed. Even if it is it should be pretty easy.
