What cause the leaves to brown?
In the case of your plant, those brown leaves look like they got cooked from too much direct sun. That can definitely happen with a monstera, which prefer indirect light. In their native habitat, they grow on forest floors and receive dappled sunlight through the tree canopy overhead. An east or north-facing window is best, or if you only have a south or west-facing window, hang a sheer curtain or move it far enough back from the window so that direct sun doesn't hit the leaves. You can go ahead and remove those most heavily damaged leaves since they won't recover. Cut them off right at the base of the petiole (the part connecting the leaf to the main stem). I drew red lines on your photo showing exactly where to cut 😊
