Hello everyone. This a leaf from my giant plum ginger plant each leave is about 2 foot plus long. I went out today to water it and I saw these very weird, insect?, Damage to my plan being a plan owner I’ve seen all sorts of pest damage and I’ve done my best to protect my plants from it. This is really weird looking in that it is in a straight line and the same type of damage. Does anybody know what kind of insect could do this? I have never seen anything like this before. @4eva @AdonicKohleria2 @applepie @BabeVila @BuffCaperspurge @CutePolypremum @DanDenMan #PlantsMakePeopleHappy @DreamMachine @FunBoglaurel81 @HFplantoasis @HummingbirdMint @Idplantthat @Jadedbelle @Jujube @Luckeecharm1 @maci.in.bloom @ModestCoconut13 @Ms.Persnickety @newplantgirlies @Preciousplants1 @princesspitstop @QuickKalopanax @sarah10orio @Shells_Garden @SillyPlantGirl @SizableSuncup20 @smushface @stephongreg @TopCoriander6 @BuffGrapeivy67 @ILoveMyPlants @DearOrchid79 @debbiedo @somewhatsara @SolaceInSunshine @RefinedSandwort @Ponytailmom @MusicalRedmint

Hi dear Bob...
I think you have been blessed with Aliens leaving a special message that translates : "Hi Bob! We are enamored of this specimen and have taken some small samples back to our home. Thank you."
This looks like it’s from the book The Hungry Caterpillar
@CutePolypremum , 🤔😂
@CutePolypremum , it’s so weirdly consistent. Three separate rows of damage in a straight line and three separate shapes one for each row and the damage is only on that leaf none of the others.
Oh gosh; wow; you’re in Florida, aren’t you? I don’t think I have the same bugs, or I’d try to help more. If I were in a warmer and more humid climate, I could probably help more. 😂
@Idplantthat , yes, I am in West Central Florida
That is strange indeed, I feel like It must have been a big bug tho🤔
@FunBoglaurel81 , the pattern consistency is the weirdest thing about it I think.
@CutePolypremum 🤣🤣👽
Wow! That plant looks beautiful ❤️ but the holes in the leaf are soo cool! Either it's an insect that knows what it's doing, a human, or an alien ( according to @CuyePolypremum, which I believe too), lol
@izzyandsugar , I never knew of any insect that could do that. I live in a very rural and remote area and this plant sits about 400 feet from the road on my property which is fenced. That only leaves one thing. 👽👽👺🤖🤡
@Malagueña it looks like the damage happened while the leaf was still unfurling, causing it to punch all the way through in this weird pattern.
@Malagueña @CutePolypremum @izzyandsugar this looks like mechanical damage, not an insect, but possibly still aliens 👽😅 It was probably injured/poked while the leaf was still rolled up, causing this pattern when it unfurled.
@DreamMachine , that could be the answer. The damage is only on that leaf.

Hey kids!

Bummer...
I was really hoping that our Alien friends paid a visit.
But, I figure that they're too intelligent to come to our planet... 😆 🤣
@CutePolypremum , absolutely. They got samples of my leaf 🍃 . I guess that was enough. 🤪🤔
@CutePolypremum I mean, it still totally COULD have been aliens that caused the injury 🤷‍♀️ Plausible deniability! 😁
@Malagueña, if you get figured out, let us know; I’m so curious what makes those kinds of holes that almost match up perfectly. 🤯
I agree with @stephongreg and @DreamMachine that it looks like mechanical damage that happened before it unfurled. But who can dash Joanie’s hopes of a friendly alien invasion? Certainly not me! @CutePolypremum
@debbiedo

Awwwww...thanks Debbie.
😍
I needed that!
Hey guys, there is this person asking weird questions and he is is saying that I'm telling him to kill himself...
This dude is creeping me out and isn't putting plants on the plant app... there is his username: Mymanleft.com
Which I feel bad.. but he is creeping me out a lot
